Overview

Drawer ("the App") is a macOS menu bar application developed by Tom McFarlin ("we," "us," or "our"). This privacy policy explains how the App handles your information.

The short version: We don't collect any data. Period.

Information We Collect

None. The App does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information or usage data.

How the App Works

The App operates entirely on your device and performs the following functions:

• Hides and shows menu bar icons — The App adds its own items to your menu bar and changes their size to move the icons you place in the drawer out of view. It does not read, control, or communicate with any other app.
• Checks how much of the menu bar is visible — On a Mac with a notched display, the App reads the positions of menu bar items from the system window list to tell you how many icons fit beside the notch. It does not capture the contents of your screen.
• Stores whether the drawer is open or closed — This setting is stored locally on your device using macOS's standard UserDefaults system and is never transmitted anywhere.

Data Storage

The only data stored by the App is:

• Drawer state — Whether the drawer was last open or closed, stored locally on your device
• Menu bar positions — Where you have dragged Drawer's items in the menu bar, stored locally by macOS

No data is stored on external servers. No accounts are created. No analytics are collected.

Permissions

The App runs in Apple's App Sandbox and does not request any special permissions, such as Accessibility, Screen Recording, or access to your files.

Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Network Usage

The App makes no network requests and works without an internet connection. The App does not:

• Send any data to our servers (we don't operate any)
• Track which apps or menu bar icons you use
• Check for updates in the background
• Share any information with third parties

The App is downloaded from GitHub. GitHub's own privacy policy applies to that download, and we do not receive any information about who downloads the App.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Since we don't collect any data, changes would likely only clarify our practices or reflect changes in legal requirements.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect any personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. The drawer's open or closed state is stored only on your device and is removed when you delete the App's preferences.
